What
is AFUE? AFUE
stands for Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency. AFUE
is a rating that reflects how efficiently a gas
furnace converts fuel to energy.
An AFUE of 90 means that approximately 90 percent
of the fuel is utilized to provide warmth to your
home, while the remaining 10 percent escapes as
exhaust.
The higher the rating the more fuel efficient the
unit will be. A rating over 89% for gas and 82%
for oil furnaces is required to achieve Energy Star
status. |

Is
a two-stage furnace right for you?
AirNow recommends two-stage furnaces
for customers looking for efficient, even heating
throughout all seasons.
Two-stage heating is considered to be more efficient,
because it operates at a low, energy-saving speed
most of the time. However, on days when more heating
is required, it switches to the next stage for maximum
comfort.

Other benefits include increased air filtration
and quiet operation.

is right for you. |
